Once relegated to the the sidelines of popular culture as underground comics only published in gay newspapers or sold in gay bookstores, queer comics have emerged from these beginnings to reach worldwide ubiquity. Trace the history of this artform alongside five comic book artists who have achieved fame in their field (including Alison Bechdel) who explore their own triumphs and traumas while (unsurprisingly) adding a healthy splash of humor as well.
