"Bomberxs De'Cora" is a collective of Bomba practitioners with over 25 years of experience committed to preserving Bomba, Puerto Rico's oldest surviving music and dance form established by the African descendants on the island. To promote wider recognition and appreciation of Afro-Latin music and dance forms, Bomberxs De'Cora will host two workshops showcasing Bomba's rhythms, movements, and traditions that foster a deeper understanding and connection to Puerto Rico's rich cultural tapestry. Perfect for kids of all ages. Please note that ticketing is per workshop participant. Parents of younger children are welcome to stay and watch if they don't choose to participate.

Yo No Soy Guapo Pop-Up Outdoor Screening

In collaboration with Cactus Club’s Moving Image series, we bring you YO NO SOY GUAPO (2018), a heartfelt and authentic portrait of Mexico City's proudest barrios and the lengths to which they will go to defend their traditions. This will be an outdoor pop-up screening so bring along your blankets and dance shoes, and be ready to dance to some cumbia sonidera! Film will be screened on the Northwest end by 10th and Becher.

En colaboración con el programa Moving Image de Cactus Club, les traemos YO NO SOY GUAPO (2018), un retrato sincero y auténtico sobre los barrios más orgullosos de la Ciudad de México y hasta dónde llegarán para defender sus tradiciones. Esta será una proyección al aire libre, así que traiga sus mantas y zapatos de baile, ¡y prepárese para bailar con un poco de cumbia sonidera!
