Nothing Fancy: Diana Kennedy

Diana Kennedy is a 95-year-old British ex-pat who has spent the last several decades becoming an expert on Mexican cuisine and authoring multiple cookbooks documenting local cooking practices and recipes that have been passed down through generations. This inspiring film follows the feisty senior citizen as she lives her best life on her ranch, living off the land, utilizing renewable energy, and attempting to give back to the country that has become her home.

"Elizabeth Carroll's zingy documentary portrait... puts a relevant, environmentally-minded contemporary lens on Kennedy's cherished traditionalism." - Variety

"A candid, frank, and comprehensive whirlwind tour through the life and work of one of the world's most celebrated (and uncompromising) chefs and cookbook authors." - The Gate

'NOTHING FANCY: DIANA KENNEDY is a charming documentary that allows its subject's vibrant personality shine through. It also serves as one way we can ensure Kennedy's contributions to preserving Mexican food culture is appreciated for decades to come." - Quelle Movies
