Me and the Beasts

MKE Film Festival

Set against the backdrop of the deepening economic crisis in Venezuela, a young, frustrated musician named Andrés attempts to compose a new album. Two mysterious masked “beasts” come to his aid in this deadpan comedy. Director Nico Manzano, who also composed the film's music and served as its cinematographer, creates a visually stunning and enigmatic tale that is both a meditation on the creative process and a socio-economic parable.
