Let the Little Light Shine

MKE Film Festival

Kevin Shaw's Chicago-set documentary is a tale that magnifies the underdog in the contentious battle over the right to a quality education. Parents, students, and educators of a thriving, top-ranked, predominantly Black elementary school fight for its survival when it is threatened with replacement by a new high school. The new school is fiercely pursued by the neighborhood's wealthier residents, exposing the current battleground where education and politics meet.
