The Good, The Bad, The Hungry

Director Nicole Lucas Haimes in attendance for 10/26 screening!

What’s more American than eating a hot dog on July 4? How about eating 60 of them! At the much-anticipated annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at Coney Island, competitive eaters battle to see who can consume the most hot dogs. With a surprising amount of heart and humanity, this documentary captures the curiosity, excitement, and emotion of one of America’s most unconventional sports, and its driven and dedicated athletes.

“...sharply drawn, surprisingly intimate documentary...impossible to watch this story unfold and not think about American politics.”
- Washington Post

"It brings out so much emotion in a place one wouldn’t think emotion would exist, but to the contrary, it.captures the very real moments of competition and the drama that comes with it. It is a definite must-see."
- Film Threat
