A tale of ambition, violence, betrayal, and, of course, photography. Eadweard Muybridge lived the lives of a dozen men before capturing a galloping horse in a transformational series of photos one fateful day on Leland Stanford’s farm. With interviews from experts, historians, and lifelong enthusiasts like Gary Oldman, this wide-ranging biography unearths little-known details of one of the primary forerunners of cinema and allows modern audiences to discover the man behind the lens.
