Join UW-Milwaukee Outdoor Pursuits and the River Revitalization Foundation for this year's Wild & Scenic Film Festival! Wild Child is a curated program for kids and families. Join us on an educational and inspirational journey from the cold Alaskan North, to the remote Karnali River in Western Nepal. We will learn about the importance of wolf and bison in our ecosystems and culture, and how anyone, regardless of age, can have a positive impact on our planet through conservation efforts, such as planting milkweed.
Wild & Scenic Film Festival inspires environmental activism and a love for nature–through film. Wild & Scenic shares an urgent call to action, encouraging festival-goers to learn more about what they can do to save our threatened planet. This unique film festival works with environmental groups across the globe to outreach into their communities and bring together a diverse audience that is inspired toward conservation and sustainable recreation. Hosting this film festival is a joint effort between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Outdoor Pursuits and the River Revitalization Foundation. These organizations hope to use the festival to increase a better community understanding of the connection we share with the planet and our role as stewards to keep it healthy for the next generations.
If you choose to contribute at the ticket price of Student Scholarship Supporter ($8), your extra funds will go directly to a student scholarship that provides better access to outdoor programs for UW-Milwaukee students that would otherwise struggle to participate in outdoor recreation. Any additional revenue generated from this event is split between the UWM student scholarship fund and the River Revitalization Foundation's Riverine-terns program that provides several youth with work experience and educational opportunities each summer.
