Film Screening + Artist Talk: Johnny Mnemonic: In Black and White

Join us at the Oriental Theatre for a film screening and post-film talk with artist and director Robert Longo on his only major studio film to date: 1995’s Johnny Mnemonic. Set in a dystopian 2021, Johnny (played by Keanu Reeves), is a data courier, literally carrying a data package inside his head, that he must deliver before he dies from the burden. After the screening, Longo and Academy Award-winning director John Ridley will talk about how the film’s 2021 rerelease enables a new examination of the film and connects to his current studio practice.
