At both venues we offer a range of technologies to make the movie-going experience more accessible.
Devices for both captions and hearing assistance are available at both venues upon request from a staff member. At the Oriental Theatre, additionally, we have Hearing Loop technology in all three cinemas.
Hearing Loop Technology
Sends audio directly to patrons’ T-coil hearing aids or to loaner hearing loop receivers with headphones.
CLOSED CAPTION DEVICES
Personal closed-captioning device with a small, high-contrast screen and privacy visor, wirelessly receiving captions for supported films. At the Oriental Theatre, we have Doremi Captiview devices available. At the Downer Theatre, we have Dolby Accessibility Solution (DAS) devices available.
HEARING ASSIST DEVICES
Wireless audio receiver providing descriptive narration or enhanced audio through a plug-in headset or personal headphones. At the Oriental Theatre, we have Doremi Fidelio and T-Coil receivers available. At the Downer Theatre, we have Dolby Accessibility Solution (DAS) devices available.
Availability & Checkout
Devices are available for checkout and return at the concession stand.
NOTE: closed-captioning and descriptive-narration availability is determined by film distributors, so not all films we screen will be enabled for captioning or hearing assist systems.
