Description
When the L.A. fires of January 2025 destroy the home of multi-MFF alum filmmaker Ondi Timoner (DIG, WE LIVE IN PUBLIC, LAST FLIGHT HOME), she does what filmmakers do best—picks up a camera—finding her town of Altadena in ruins and neighbors facing displacement. Led by activist Heavenly Hughes, the community rallies in solidarity amid climate catastrophe in this taut depiction of the transcendent power of place and community resilience in the face of grief and loss.
This program will be followed by a virtual Q&A with documentary participant, Heavenly Hughes (Altadena Rising), moderated by UWM Geography Professor, Dr. Ryan Holifield.
