Inspiring Kids with Film

Here at Milwaukee Film, we believe the children are our future. Through a variety of initiatives—including our wildly popular Education Screenings—our Youth Education programs work to improve students' media literacy and provide school-age youth with an opportunity to participate in film festival experiences. Those efforts have included:

  • Education Screenings, in which students attend a Milwaukee Film Festival screening and participate in activities or discussions related to the film
  • Reel Talks, where industry professionals visit your classroom and engage students in conversations about the power of film or filmmaking as a career.
  • Take 1: Teen Filmmaking Lab, an opportunity for teenagers interested in making or viewing films to learn more courtesy of Milwaukee Film.
  • Teen Screen, an opportunity for teenagers to select films for the Milwaukee Film Festival.
  • Educator Services, including our Melinda Krei Educator Fellowship, Educator Workshops, and a Curriculum Archive to support area educators in their efforts to bring film into the classroom.
