Twice yearly at Folsom Prison a remarkable group therapy program takes place. Inmates and civilians gather together in a single room to do "the work," a process in which these men delve deep into their pasts and attempt to rid themselves of the aggression and toxic masculinity that plagues their day-to-day existence, allowing for vulnerability and catharsis (that just so happens to prevent recidivism). Viscerally affective with incredible access to its emotionally unguarded subjects, The Work is a look at trauma-informed care certain to stick with you long after the credits roll.
