The story of how the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving large-scale art environments came to be, this mixed media animated documentary relives Kohler Arts Center matriarch Ruth Kohler's first adventure: the preservation of concrete artist Fred Smith's Wisconsin Concrete Park. By the time of Smith's death in 1976, the visionary artist had created a massive, traffic-halting collection of life-size legendary figures. Fred Smith's Wisconsin Concrete Park is located in Phillips, WI and is the first environment preserved by what is now known as the John Michael Kohler Center.
