Staff Pick with Live Pre-show set by Storm Chaser! Isaac Sherman, Projectionist extraordinaire, chose Twister!

From the creators of Jurassic Park and the director of Speed comes a breathless adventure-thriller that races across the tornado-plagued plains of the Midwest as they're ripped apart by twisters. Filmed on location in the Heartland's "Tornado Alley" and utilizing state-of-the-art special effects by Industrial Light and Magic, Twister follows two groups of scientists tracking the massive destructive power of the biggest storm to strike Oklahoma in half a century, a killer system dropping twisters everywhere along the countryside. During an extraordinary twenty-four hours filled with life-endangering exploits, the lead scientist and her estranged husband (Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton) explore their own stormy relationship as they race toward a series of deadly cyclones.

"An expert in making audiences squirm and twist, at making us feel the rush of experience right along with the actors, De Bont choreographs action and suspense so beautifully he makes it seem like a snap."
- Los Angeles Times

"Extreme-weather buffs, thrill-ride junkies and anyone else in search of mindless entertainment need look no further."
- TV Guide
