My Name is Lopez

Hispanic Heritage Month

Born in Dallas of undocumented Mexican immigrants, Trinidad Lopez III fought his way out of the ghetto with a guitar to become a true American rock and roll legend, one of the first Latino rock stars. Follow his meteoric rise to the top - topping the charts in 36 countries and creating a protest anthem with his version of "If I Had A Hammer", creating a lifelong friendship/mentorship with Frank Sinatra, and playing in nightclubs across America during an era where performers of color weren't allowed to sit and eat in the very venues they headlined.
