Several films in this year's Minority Health Film Festival highlight the challenges women face in fighting stigmas and making their voices heard. The female filmmakers telling these stories and more have worked through similar challenges in the film industry, which still places barriers in front of women seeking opportunity and equity.

Our Women in Film showcase, presented by Live Wire Productions, is part of our efforts to empower and celebrate women in film - breaking down those barriers by elevating the work of female filmmakers.

For 2020, we're proud to announce that 33 of the 50 films have been directed or co-directed by women. Beyond the numbers, the quality and power of these films are incredible, and we hope you watch as many as you can before MHFF concludes on Sept. 24.
