STAFF PICKS: Dana on TENEBRE
What's your name?
Dana Reinoos
What's your job title at Milwaukee Film? What does that entail?
Executive Assistant & Grants Manager; I assist CEO Jonathan Jackson with whatever he needs, and also manage our philanthropic grants program.
What's your favorite place to sit in a movie theater?
Aisle seat, middle-ish of the theater
What's your favorite theater snack?
Other than OT popcorn, pretzel nuggets with nacho cheese
What's the first film you remember seeing in theaters?
The 1987 re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
What movie did you pick?
Tenebre (aka UNSANE)
When did you first see said movie?
Honestly I cannot remember!
In ten words or less, tell us why we HAVE to see this movie!
Argento takes revenge on the giallo genre he perfected
Okay - expand on that - why did you make this your staff pick?
This is Argento's best film - best score, best set pieces, and it's extremely meta, about what happens if your fictional creations seem to become real. Argento spent the 70s making increasingly elaborate giallo (Euro-thriller/horror) films, and implodes it all gleefully in Tenebre.
