When did you first see said movie?

i saw it for the first time when I was around 15, via Netflix DVD. I don't think I knew what to feel at first, it was one of the strangest movies I had seen at the time. Then i watched it again. And again, and again, and I fell completely in love.

In ten words or less, tell us why we HAVE to see this movie!

It's about me and you and everyone we know!

Okay - expand on that - why did you make this your staff pick?

I've never seen another film before or since that spoke my language and understood me so deeply. It’s about people at every stage of life and is just so tender and funny and bizarre. i never gave any thought to picking any other movie, this has been my favorite in the world for so long and i’m always looking to share it with more people. I’m so excited to see it for the first time in 35mm! I love how all the weird little stories wind together and how all the characters feel so real and relatable - Me and You and Everyone We Know is so close to my heart because I’ve never seen another movie that saw the world the way i do, before i even understood it myself.

Any parting words you'd like to impart?

If my above answer sounded like mushy emotional garbage, it is! But also know that this movie is also about poop and sex and setting yourself on fire. So if any of that sounds good to you, please come and see it with me.

Huge thanks to Kelsey for telling us why she made this her staff pick (and if that final pitch didn't do it for you, I don't know what to say)! See Me and You and Everyone We Know this Saturday - 3 PM at the Oriental Theatre (3/16)! TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE.
