Full List of MFF25 Expected Guests in Attendance, Plus Special Events and Panels

MILWAUKEE – Wednesday, April 23rd The 17th annual Milwaukee Film Festival begins tomorrow night, on Thursday, April 24th, with the opening night film Sally. But the Festival doesn’t stop once the credits roll—the opening night screening of Sally will be immediately followed by an Opening Night Block Party, activating the neighborhood surrounding the historic Oriental Theatre.

The Opening Night Block Party features a DJ provided by WMSE - 91.7FM with dancing in Ivanhoe Plaza starting at 8:00 PM and special discounts and freebies for MFF25 Opening Night Film ticketholders and all MFF25 passholders, including buy-one-get-one-free drinks at Pomona Cider Co., The Pharmacy Bar, Triple Taproom, Vier North, Vintage, or Von Trier, or one FREE game of bowling at Landmark Lanes.

Post-film Q&A’s with visiting artists and special guests are consistently some of the most anticipated elements of the annual Fest. This year, Milwaukee Film is bringing approximately 80 guests to the Milwaukee Film Festival, with over 90 expected individual Q&A’s. Folks can see the full list of expected post-film Q&A’s at mkefilm.org/mff25guests.

“One of the things that makes a film festival so special—and so different from going to the cinema year-round—is having many of the filmmakers in attendance. Post-film Q&As give our audiences the chance to truly connect with the real people who made these films,” explained Cara Ogburn, Artistic Director at Milwaukee Film. “And Milwaukee always shows up with great questions and ideas—filmmakers consistently tell me that Milwaukee has some of the best audiences on the festival circuit,” she concluded.

Aside from the Opening Night Block Party, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the magic of the Milwaukee Film Festival, besides just attending a screening! The public is invited to join us throughout the 15-day Festival for various parties, panels, and events. Every single day of the Festival, Triple Taproom will serve as the official Festival Lounge, which is open for everyone—not just filmmakers! The Festival Longue is open Mon-Thur from 4PM-9PM, and Fri-Sun from 12PM-9PM, with several days featuring hosted happy hours by local organizations and businesses. The full list of expected MFF25 events and panels can be found at mkefilm.org/mff25events.

Tickets and Passes to the 2025 Milwaukee Film Festival are available now online at mkefilm.org/mff or in-person at the Oriental Theatre box office. Starting Friday, April 25th, the Festival box office will also be open at the Downer Theatre through May 8.
