Alright, Milwaukee. Let’s get to the bulk of this ever so tantalizing lineup and catapult into the first full day of films and events. While we’re here to share films that highlight untold and unique stories, some films resonate with just about everyone.

Ky Dickens' Zero Weeks highlights a paradox in United States’ mentality when it comes to a healthy balance between family and work. Why must we choose between the two when someone has a baby, you fall terribly ill, or you are needed to be at a sick family member’s bedside? While the rest of the world has government-mandated family leave, only 14 % of U.S. workers have access to this benefit. For many, the fight for government-mandated family leave isn’t just a political one. It’s a fight for family, a fight for one’s well-being.

Join us for the first screening of Zero Weeks and get the chance to discuss the topic at hand with director Ky Dickens and subjects Astar Herdon and Ellen Bravo. We’re sure you’ll have plenty to ponder after this thought-provoking documentary.

Zero Weeks plays at 6 PM at the Oriental Theatre. Tickets are no longer available online, but still available at all of our theater box offices.  It screens two more times:

* 10/21 - 1 PM @ Avalon Theater

* 10/23 - 4 PM @ Jan Serr Studio Cinema
