Three is the magic number on Day 3 of the Festival as we invite viewers to step into the third dimension with our 3D screening of Long Day's Journey Into Night! Fans of director and MFF alum Bi Gan's previous film (Kaili Blues) are well aware the director's masterful use of long takes, but Gan only gets more ambitious in his second feature. The film ends with a nearly hourlong 3D tracking shot that' pushes the boundaries of what's possible in cinema.

For only his second feature film, Long Day's Journey Into Night further cements Bi Gan's place as one of the most exciting voices in cinema today. Some critics have already compared the 30-year-old director to the likes of legendary filmmakers such as Andrei Tarkovsky, Luis Buรฑuel and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Those are big shoes to fill to be sure, but Gan's talent, ambition, and vision show that he's more than worthy of living up to that legacy.

The film will have an additional 2D screening on October 24th at The Oriental Theatre (tickets still available here), but today is your ONLY chance to seeit in 3D and experience it to its maximum effect!

Note that today's showing is a Premium Screening and 6-packs, 10-packs, and vouchers cannot be redeemed for this screening!

Tickets for today's screening can be purchased at any of our Festival box office locations starting one hour before the venue's first screening.
