Bask in the wonder of movie magic with this exciting look beyond the scenes of a few of this year’s festival films. Catch a handful of local and visiting filmmakers as they present exclusive footage and anecdotal evidence of what went into transforming ideas into art.

Seed&Spark Presents: Crowdfunding to Build Independence

Newly adapted for 2016, this class will provide the crowdfunding action plan most likely to create a lasting, flourishing, direct relationship with your audience. You’ll learn how to find your audience, how to structure your crowdfunding campaign, how to pick the right goal and backer incentives, and much more. (By the way, Seed&Spark crowdfunding projects launched by people who’ve attended this session have a 100% success rate!)

Seed&Spark Presents: The Art of the Pitch
SAT, OCT. 1 | NOON | Milwaukee Film Festival Lounge
The art of the pitch changes depending on who you’re talking to: an equity investor, a crowdfunding supporter, a brand or nonprofit, or a customer/audience member. Filmmakers will learn to hone their pitch for each of these four categories. This workshop plays at the intersection of film and technology—with an eye for the two industries to learn from one another in their pitches.

Pitch Us Your Doc! Contest

Watch as several local filmmakers pitch their documentary ideas to a panel of industry insider judges in hopes of winning $1,000 cash to make their film! Cheer them on, learn what makes a quality pitch, and get a taste of what projects may be soon coming out of Milwaukee.
