The 2018 Milwaukee Film Festival was a success thanks to you!
The 10th anniversary of the festival proved to be one of our best, and with the addition of the Oriental Theatre as part of the Milwaukee Film family, we were able to take the festival further than we ever have before. Between screening over 300 films, educational panels, diverse films and community involvement, we're proud of another successful year of pushing Milwaukee forward as a center for film culture.
But a film festival is more than just an opportunity to see new movies or chat with fellow film fanatics; it's bigger than its parts or even the sum of those parts. A festival is an immersive, experiential monument to the artistic, technological, and philosophical power of visual storytelling. It's a celebration of the medium's unique ability to capture the beauty and tumult of the human experience, to bear witness, to give voice to the voiceless—all while never forgetting to have a great time. It's a tribute to the best of film, the best of the visual arts, and the best of human creativity.
Although this year has passed we are excited for the future and to celebrate film and film culture with MKE Film members, our friends and families, our neighbors, and the community at large (AKA friends we haven't met yet!)
We're already busy brainstorming next year's event, but in the meantime, you can reminisce on the 2018 festival with some links below.
