CCF2021

History repeats itself: in 2013, the Dominican Republic's Supreme Court strips citizenship from anyone with Haitian parents retroactive to 1929, echoing the genocide of 1937 where colorism allowed for tens of thousands of dark-skinned Haitians to be murdered by the Dominican army. STATELESS takes us directly into the heart of this darkness, using hidden camera techniques to provide a white-knuckle, first-hand account of those resisting extremist ideologies intolerant of Afro-Caribbean identities.
