Carlos Spector, an immigration lawyer from El Paso, has dedicated his life to fighting for the asylum rights of Mexicans attempting to immigrate to the U.S. in order to escape the brutal cartel violence of the Juarez Valley region, which lies just across the border. Spector’s dedication to social justice and his tireless spirit shine in this poetic, verité-style visual essay, and the beautiful cinematography is befitting of such a soulful man.
