Appearing in the MHFF documentary The American Dream, Jennie Joseph is the founder and CEO of Commonsense Childbirth, the first and only Black-owned nationally-accredited private midwifery training school in the United States. Joseph will discuss her role in the film and the work of Doulas (midwives) to decolonize birth work and ensure women of color receive the care they need before, during, and after pregnancy.
