Straight Up

Director James Sweeney in attendance for 10/21 screening!

Todd is an insecure gay man in L.A. whose overwhelming insecurities around dating bring him to a solution: dating women. What ensues is a hilarious and heartfelt love story, bringing a millennial lens to the classic rom-com genre. With razor-sharp wit, a steady stream of cultural references, and never-ending one-liners, this fast-paced and fast-talking queer film challenges us to think about what gay and straight really mean.

"We often make our own psychological prisons, and Straight Up is a droll embodiment of its protagonist's (and perhaps its maker's?) inner turmoil."
- Hollywood Reporter

"It's the battle between what they feel for each other and what they believe their relationship should amount to that gives Straight Up its most memorable qualities."
- TheWrap
