Great Freedom

MKE Film Festival

Milwaukee Film Festival favorite, Franz Rogowski (TRANSIT, IN THE AISLES) makes his GenreQueer debut in this decades-spanning drama. Set in post-World War II Germany, Hans (Rogowski) is imprisoned under Paragraph 175, which criminalizes homosexuality. As the film dances effortlessly between three timelines, GREAT FREEDOM finds moments of exquisitely tender vulnerability in a sweeping story anchored by a stunning lead performance by Rogowski.
