That 90-year-old Sonia Warshawski has kept her small tailoring business open in an otherwise completely empty Kansas City shopping mall should come as no surprise. She's a survivor, after all, having lived through Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen as a young Polish teenager, now using her pain and trauma as a force for good by reaching the hearts of teens and convicts on the lecture circuit with her story of resilience in the face of horror. An inspiring portrait of an indomitable spirit, Big Sonia is a character-driven documentary to inspire hope in troubled times.
