Announcing Black Lens at MFF2015

posted by MKE Film on August 12, 2015

In the Black Lens program, African-American filmmakers explore stories and topics rooted in the black community and relevant to us all. Documentarians delve into historical and current civil rights movements. Single mothers and a man just out of prison do all they can to raise their sons. One woman discovers her hidden heritage, while another breaks the color barrier at New York’s American Ballet Theatre. A teenager struggles to come of age amongst bullying, sexual emergence and peer suicide; and two strangers share a one-night-only romantic adventure. This program offers a full range of human experiences from trials to triumphs.
