Milwaukee Film’s 2023 celebration of  Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is curated in collaboration with ElevAsian, a local organization focused on amplifying Milwaukee’s AAPI community.

This year we celebrate Bollywood with a screening of MONSOON WEDDING, a multi-generational epic centered around a single Indian wedding, and spotlight the early work of actress Michelle Yeoh–the first Asian woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE–with screenings of cinema classics CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON and THE HEROIC TRIO. 

In addition to the films, we’ve also got some great social events–our latest installment of Engage and Activate - Diverse Professionals Forum and an AAPI trivia night round out the month’s activities.
