Re-orienting the Oriental Theatre pt.2

WHERE: East Library (2320 N Cramer St.)

WHEN: Saturday September 17th @ 10AM

Continuing the conversation from CCF21 interrogating the Oriental Theatre's name and decor by looking at the historical use of the term "Oriental" in cinema and culture, this year's discussion centers on our cinema's architectural and design elements. We'll begin with a presentation by Michael McQuillen, a historic preservation expert, about the architectural context of the place and then hear from a panel of local AAPI leaders, moderated by Adam Carr, responding to his talk and these broader themes.
