Only in its second season, the popular Starz series P-Valley has made a cultural impact as a curator of earnest conversations about the intersections of sexual intimacy, emotional vulnerability and mental health in Black communities. Examing scenes from the show to foreground a multilayered discussion about its depictions of Black humanity on screen, series star J. Alphonse Nicholson (Lil Murda) will discuss such representations within his character’s storyline.
