Kiss @ Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival Monthly Screening,
Lynden Sculpture Garden (Thursday, Aug 9 at 7 PM)
(dir. Andy Warhol, USA, 1963)
In 1963, legendary Pop Artist (and August 6 birthday boy) Andy Warhol began shooting a series of three-minute films featuring men and women kissing. Why? Because the Hayes Office censors prohibited lips to touch and linger for more than three seconds in any Hollywood film. Take that, Hayes Office! This 55-minute version features some of the most notable faces from Warhol’s famed Factory, and will look pretty darn great out in that beautiful sculpture garden.

Zoolander @ Fish Fry & A Flick (Friday, Aug 10 at 10 PM)
(dir. Ben Stiller, USA, 2001)
Also known as the film that single-handedly revitalized male modeling, this star-studded comedy follows legendary male model and children’s literacy advocate Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) as he falls from the modeling spotlight into a brainwashed world of criminal desp— you know what? The plot’s not important. This is a chance for you to hang out at the lakefront, laugh your brains out, and make the “Blue Steel” face with a few hundred other folks.
