I am delighted today to introduce our new Development Director, Benjamin Gunning. Like the rest of us at Milwaukee Film, Benjamin started as a volunteer for our organization. For the past three years, he has served on our feature film screening committee and is passionate festival attendee.
Benjamin is joining us from the Medical College of Wisconsin's Development Department, where he focused on Annual and Special Giving. Born in Connecticut, he graduated high school in Maryland and lived in Turkey before finding his way via Indiana to his adopted hometown of Milwaukee. (Whew, got all that? We'll draw you a map.) His father, now a proud US citizen and retired electrical engineer, emigrated from Iran in the 1960’s. His mother, a social worker turned entrepreneur, was born in Connecticut after her family emigrated from County Cork, Ireland. Benjamin’s strong work ethic and love for exploring new cultures stems from his parents’ example. In his free time, he writes poetry (published!), pursues photography and loves to learn new languages.
We are thrilled to have Benjamin join our team, and know you will enjoy getting to know him at the festival in a few weeks! In the mean time, you can contact him at: benjamin@mkefilm.org.
