What is Festival Genius?
It’s the future. Or, technically, the present, since we’re using it now.
 
Can you be more specific, please?
Festival Genius is our brand new online film guide that allows you to build your own film festival schedule and buy tickets for it. Say goodbye to scribbling all over that beautiful printed program guide that Cathy B. worked so hard on!

Do I have to create an account to use it?
Nope. You can just click ‘add to cart’ and buy your tickets.

If I can do that, why should I create an account?
Having an account is the only way to take full advantage of all the genius-ness of Festival Genius, like genius scheduling, genius sync-able and printable calendars, and a genius iPhone app so that you can take your schedule with you all the time. (Except when the film starts. You know better than to have your phone out when the film starts.) Don’t make us say “genius” again.

I already downloaded the free Milwaukee Film Festival iPhone app, but Festival Genius isn’t showing up on it.
That’s because you need to update that app of yours. It’s the only way to get it to work.

Okay. Now it’s working. But how do I sync my schedule from this iPhone app?
Easy. At the bottom of the screen, press “more.” Then press “sync.” Then press “update schedule.” You’re welcome.

So, any advice before we set up our account?
Yes. All Festival Genius "recent activity" shows up on the Festival Genius homepage. If you don't want the world to know your film fest picks, don't pick a user name based on your real name. Use a made-up name instead, so no one will know!

Example: Instead of “GeorgeClooney414,” maybe do “SilverFox61.” Just a suggestion.

Anything else?
Like we said, that sweet mobile app is iPhone only. Sorry, Android users. Hopefully next year.
