- Film Guide
As you an imagine, our office is filled with film nerds. Some of us make films, some of us study films, some of us project films, and some of us watch films just to get a little smarter. And, as you can imagine, we also love some other non-celluoid stuff. Like music. From the look of things, you do, too.
Back for its second year in 2013 is our live music series--now called Soundtrack at The Hotel Foster. Last year's music line-up featured a ton of great music acts including Crankshaft, Heidi Spencer and the Rare Birds, Hello Death, Klassik and more performing for more than 1300 people over the course of its inaugural ten-night run.
This year, Soundtrack will feature live music (and a few DJs) for every night of the festival except Opening Night (when you should be at Discovery World for our party). That's right--any night during the fest after you've watched so many films your eyeballs are begging for mercy, just head over to Foster and let your ears take over. Every Soundtrack show is free with a festival pass or ticket stub from that night’s screenings--or $5 without.
A special thanks goes out to our partners Johnny Revord and Doug Williams over at The Hotel Foster. In addition to owning what has quickly become one of the city's best music venues, they're incredible film nerds, just like us. And with programming assistance this year from WMSE's Promotions Director Ryan Schleicher, they've pulled together an outstanding line-up. I'm looking forward to dancing every night after we shut down the projectors. I hope you join me.
